Word Windows Statement on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking 2022
Introduction
‘Modern slavery’ is a term used to describe certain offences and other prohibited conduct, including forced labour, child labour, slavery, people trafficking, deceptive labour recruitment practices, forced marriage and debt bondage. Slavery, child labour and human trafficking are serious crimes and a violation of fundamental human rights. There are various forms of this ‘Modern Slavery’ which deprives victims of their liberty and usually involves financial exploitation. As a business, we conduct our business fairly, ethically and with respect to fundamental human rights.
Word Windows Ltd is fully committed to the prevention of all forms of slavery, forced labour or servitude, child labour and human-trafficking, both in our business and in our supply chains. We have a zero tolerance for all aspects of modern slavery.
Word Windows Ltd is committed to working with our supply chain to acquire goods and services without causing harm to others. This statement relates to the 2022/2023 financial year of and is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our organisation’s structure
Word Windows Ltd is a start up company. Registered in August 2021 the business is still in its infancy, but has high expectations of the suppliers they form relationships with. The company has a strong ethical and sustainability focus (see sustainability policy).
Our policy on Modern slavery and Human Trafficking
Word Windows Ltd is committed to complying with the Modern Slavery Act of 2015. The Company will not support suppliers or business who do not conduct their activity within the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
Word Windows Ltd supports key principles of internationally recognised codes of labour practice, which include requirements that:
- Employment is freely chosen
- Working conditions are safe and hygienic
- Child labour shall not be used
- Working hours are not excessive
- No unlawful discrimination is practiced
- No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

Whilst the business is in its infancy the supply chain at present is very small. However as the business grows and develops Word Window Ltd is committed to ensuring that the same level of rigour and due diligence is conducted to ensure that new suppliers observe appropriate human rights laws.

Word Windows Ltd Reserves the right withdraw cease trading with any supplier that fails to provide evidence that it is taking necessary measures to ensure the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking.
